About Buckingham Podiatry
At Buckingham Podiatry, we provide expert, compassionate foot and lower limb care tailored to your needs. Our team includes HCPC-registered podiatrists, who diagnose and treat medical foot conditions, and qualified Foot Health Practitioners (FHPs), who provide routine footcare. All clinicians hold enhanced DBS checks, supporting our commitment to patient safety.
Opened in July 2024, our clinic offers treatments from routine footcare and skin/nail conditions to sports injuries, gait analysis, diabetic foot care, and complex foot health concerns. We welcome patients of all ages — no referral required.
Our Team and Your Care
- Podiatrists: HCPC-registered professionals trained to assess, diagnose, and treat medical foot and lower limb conditions, including pain, infections, wounds, diabetic foot concerns, nail surgery, and biomechanical issues.
- Foot Health Practitioners: Provide routine footcare such as nail trimming, callus and corn reduction, and ongoing maintenance.

Josephine Smith - Clinic Director
Podiatrist Josephine Smith holds a First-Class Honours degree in Podiatric Medicine from the University of Northampton, where she was awarded Best All-round Student and the Spirit of Podiatry award.
Patients frequently commend Josephine for her kindness, professionalism, and thorough approach to care, highlighting her ability to put them at ease while delivering excellent clinical outcomes.
Her experience includes private practice, placements within a multidisciplinary diabetes foot clinic at Leicester General Hospital, podiatric surgery at Danetre Hospital, and NHS community podiatry services across Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire.
Josephine lives in Buckingham with her family. She loves hedgehogs and is a passionate supporter of Deanshanger Hedgehog Rescue, helping the charity whenever she can.

Magdalena Gherca – Podiatrist
Magdalena Gherca is an HCPC-registered Podiatrist holding a BSc (Hons) in Podiatry from the University of Northampton. Originally from Poland, she has lived in the UK for the past six years.
Magdalena gained experience through NHS placements and private practice, initially working as a Foot Health Practitioner while completing her degree. She now works across both NHS and private settings and is committed to ongoing professional development.
Outside of work, Magdalena enjoys spending time with her husband and two children and has a love of reading.

Eva Smith – Foot Health Practitioner
Eva Smith is a qualified Foot Health Practitioner holding a Diploma in Foot Health from The SMAE Institute. She joined Buckingham Podiatry in 2024 as a podiatry assistant, gaining valuable experience in patient care, infection control, and clinical procedures before progressing into a treating role.
Patients describe Eva as gentle and thorough, often commenting on how comfortable and well-supported they feel during their appointments. She provides routine footcare and works closely alongside the podiatry team.
Eva is committed to ongoing professional development and recently attended the Primary Care Conference, continuing to build her knowledge while supporting patients at the clinic.
Eva lives locally in Buckingham and enjoys being part of the community she serves.
